Preventive Maintenance
In order to understand the benefits of preventive maintenance, you first have to understand the relationship between problems and repairs. Prompt repairs are always beneficial when you notice a problem with your air conditioner. This is because air conditioner problems get worse the longer they are allowed to develop. No matter how quickly you get your system repaired after noticing a problem, however, you are still giving that problem time to damage your system. Preventive maintenance is more advantageous, as it gives us the opportunity to identify problems before they can develop. Then we can repair the issues early, saving you possibly hundreds or thousands of dollars in unnecessary repair costs.
It is important that you schedule preventive maintenance at least once a year, ideally during the spring. This is because the best time to conduct maintenance on any system is right before you plan on using it more often. It is far better to conduct annual maintenance late, however, than not to conduct it at all. Without preventive maintenance, your air conditioner has a greater chance of developing problems under the stress of everyday use.
