What to Do in Your Home Before Getting a New Heater Installed

If you’re planning to have a new heater installed, you may be wondering what goes into that process. Heater installation can be an all-day project. There are some steps that you can complete as a homeowner to get prepared and make the installation process a little bit easier for you and our technicians.

If you have questions about heating installation in Auburn, WA, give our team a call. We can talk to you about your options for upgrading your existing heater with a newer model and even review what to expect during a heater installation appointment. You can keep reading to learn more about a few steps that you can take to prepare your home and family for the day of a new installation.

Clear the Way for Our Team

One of the best things you can do to help our team ahead of a heater installation is to make plenty of room for us to work. We need a clear pathway from your front door to the area where your heater is located. We will also need space around the heater closet to remove the old unit and all of its components before installing the new model.

Installation goes much more smoothly if we don’t have to work around furniture and other household items that might be in our way. We ask that you clear enough space for us to work on the day of the installation. We can talk to you about this more when we complete an in-home assessment for installation.

Protect Your Belongings

In addition to clearing space, moving your personal household items away from the heater installation area also helps to protect your belongings from being damaged. We will be moving a lot of heavy equipment and tools.

Although our team takes extra care in working around your home, it’s better to put anything away that you don’t want to be damaged. Examples include art and photographs that hang on the walls near where we will be working. You can also move rugs, pieces of furniture, and other belongings that could potentially be damaged.

Make Plans for Kids and Pets

We also encourage you to consider making arrangements for your children and pets on the day of the installation. If it’s possible, you can keep them in a room of your home away from the areas where our team will be working.

If this is too difficult, or you may need to take them somewhere else for the day. Perhaps you have a friend or family member who can keep your children and pets so that they are safe and don’t interfere with the heating system installation process.

Contact Sound Heating and Air Conditioning Inc. today to schedule an appointment for heating installation! We take your comfort as seriously as you do.
